Lortone Model QT66 Rock Tumbler
The Lortone Model QT66 rock tumbler gives you two six-pound capacity barrels made from soft rubber for quiet tumbling. Using two barrels allows you to tumble two loads at the same time - perhaps different types of rocks - or rocks at different stages of the tumbling process.
The Model QT66 has a heavy-duty, maintenance-free motor that will give years of service with regular use. It also has a metal frame, metal drive shafts and a durable construction. The moving parts can all be easily replaced if you wear them out. You can also easily adapt the machine to tumble a single twelve pound barrel (not provided). This is the machine to get if you plan to polish a lot of rock.
For Best Polishing Results:
If you are really serious about getting a high quality polish we recommend getting a separate barrel and using it exclusively for the polishing step. A dedicated barrel for polish (and a thorough cleaning of your rocks after the 600 grit step) will help avoid grit contamination of your polishing step. |
